Challenges:

Due to bad treatment from her in-laws at home, Ranjana started staying in her parent’s home. It was stigma related question for married women to stay in her parent’s home. She felt guilty and depressed inside with discrimination she faced staying in her parent’s home. She had no source of income and hasn’t got anything from her husband.

Initiative:

At that time, she heard about NNDSWO Dailkeh during various activities conducted at local level about human rights. She took support of HRAA of Bansi VDC for getting legal advice from “KanuniSahayata Kendra” for getting her right from her husband. She filed a case against her husband and able to get NPR 6,000 monthly, according to justice proved by District court, Dailekh. After that, she got opportunity to work as HR activist in AAWZ project for advocating rights of women and marginalized people in her community which has helped in building her self-confidence.

Results:

When seen today, she has been happily working as HR activist in her community. She built her self-confidence for advocating rights of marginalized people for claiming their rights. This was possible with suggestion and support from HRAA members in her VDC. She would like to thank NNDSWO Dailekh and AAWAZ project for providing her opportunity.
