At a Glance Chankheli Rural Municipality

The Chankheli Rural Municipality is located in the eastern part of the Humla district of the Karnali province of Nepal. This RM is made with the merge of previous Shrimasta, Mimi, Darma and Melchham VDC. There are currently six wards. In the context of the Himalayan district of Humla, these villages have great potential in terms of economic and infrastructure development. This RM is considered to be very important for apple and Walnut cultivation. Religious tolerance and social harmony are the basis of the prosperity of this village, which is full of cultural, religious and ethnic diversity. At present, there is an office of the Chankheli Rural Municipality Executive in Ward No. 4 Piplang. Located on the banks of Loti Khola. This Rural Municipality is connected to the border of Mugu district. The area of this rural municipality is 310.41 sq. Km. According to the census of 2078 BS, the population is 6625 and the population density is 4 sq km. There are 4 health posts in this RM named Melchham, Shrimashta, Mimi and Darma health posts.
