Guthichaur Rural Municipality was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Guthichaur Gaunpalika is located in Garjyangkot, Jumla district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Guthichaur Gaunpalika is surrounded by Dolpa District on the East and Chandannath Municipality and Tatopani Rural Municipality on the West, Patarasi Rural Municipality on the North, and Jajarkot district on the South. The total area of the Guthichaur Rural Municipality is 227 square kilometers (87.65 sq mi). The density of this rural municipality is 43/km2 (110/sq mi). This Rural municipality is divided into 5 wards. Guthichaur, Garjyangkot, and Depalgaun Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Guthichaur Gaunpalika.
