At a Glance Namkha Rural Municipality
The Namkha Rural Municipality is located in the far northwestern part of Humla district under Karnali province. The Chinese autonomous region is connected to Tibet. In terms of area, it is the largest village municipality in Nepal with a total area of about 2419.64 sq. Km. Hepka, Khagalgaon, Muchu and Limi VDCs of Savik have six wards in this municipality. Smoked municipality is in the east, the Tibet region of China in the west and north and Bajhang and Bajura districts in the south. There is only one caste of Tamangs (Lamas) living here. They follow the Ba'athist religion. In each of the towers of this village, there are monasteries which are considered to be the symbol of the faith of the Lama castes. Their main festival is Saenam Lhasa. Food crops like Uwa, Phapar, Kodo, Potato, Chino, Kagunae, Maize, Apple, Okhar, Chuli, Khamo are produced here. The forest here is covered with pine trees, cedar and vegetable leaves.
