At a Glance Palhinandan Rural Municipality
Palhinandan Rural Municipality is 7 km from the district headquarters of Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta West district under Lumbini province. It is situated on the south side of the district. Historical religious sites Palhi Bhagwati Temple and previous Germi and Sanai VDC. Rampurwa, Harpur, Kushma, Palhi, Germi and Sanai villages development committee of Palhinandan Rural Municipality. Carrying the historical saga of Nandan Lake covered 36 bighas. Areas of this rural municipality is 44.67 sq. Km. The total population of this municipality is 35429 according to census 2068. Out of the total population living in this village municipality, 99 per cent speak Awadhi and Bhojpuri languages while about 1 per cent of the population speaks Tharu, Urdu and Nepali languages.
The Sarawal Municipality in the east, Rohini Municipality of Rupandehi in the west, Ramgram Municipality in the north and Maheshpur Customs is another landmark of this municipality bordering India in the south. The main occupation of this municipality is agriculture, which is mainly inhabited by Gupta, Harijan, Yadav and Muslim castes. Due to the limited number of schools, it is compulsory to go to the district headquarters and other cities and the capital for higher education. Palhi Bhagwati Temple, Shiva Temple Lohrauli, Sohgaura Temple Padari, Nandan Tal Sanai and Germi, Radhakrishna Temple Ramjan's Temple Sugauli are the main historical tourist and religious sites of this village.
