Sarawal Rural Municipality is one of the rural municipality of Nawalparasi (West) district which elongates from Chure Hill to Indian border. Sarawal Rural Municipality was formed after merging then existing Tilakpur, Manari, Sarawal, Badharadubauliya, Rampur Khadauna and Bhujahawa VDCs. Its total area is 73.19 sq.km. It is surrounded by Pratappur and Bardaghat in east, Palhinandan and Ramgram in west, Bardaghat and Sunwal in north and India in south. According to the census of 2068, the total poulation of this rural municipality was 37418.
